Having a cedar top gives the guitar a nice warm tone right off the bat, but being a cedar top also means it is subject to dings right away. The beauty of the guitar is the resonance of the cedar top and playability for money. The body is comfortable for a jumbo style guitar with a fair amount of volume. It suits fingerstyle guitar playing quite well, but it would not suit someone looking for a guitar you can dig into like the full sized dreads. I use mine as a travel guitar for camping and the like. If you are looking for a step up from a cheaper guitar and you don't have much money, this guitar is worth a look. Seagull, and parent company Godin, provide good guitars for the money, especially at the lower price points.
